What positions are open?

How do I apply?

See the application links on the open positions page. For each center, you will need to complete the application form and upload your resume, and cover letter.

What should be in my cover letter?

In your cover letter, please tell us a bit about your background, qualifications, and interest in the position. Please keep you cover letter to 1 page in length.

When can I apply?

Applications for the 2022-2023 academic year positions are open from Wednesday March 23th until Wednesday April 13th at 9pm. Applications for positions that open during the academic year will be open on a rolling basis, please see details of the particular opening.

I want to apply to multiple positions, how do I apply? 

You only need to complete one application, please indicate which centers and positions you are applying to on the application.

What is the start date?

The 2022-2023 student staff cohort with begin with training two weeks before the start of the Fall 2022 semester from August 8th – August 12th. After training, the positions will start during the first week of Fall semester classes. The exact  schedule will be determined with the area Coordinator.

Student staff who start in the middle of the academic year will have a modified start date based on when the position is available.

Will work be in person or virtual?

Most work is expected to be in person. This could change at any time due to the Covid-19 pandemic, in which case a hybrid approach or fully work from home aproach may be needed. 

Can graduate students apply?


Yes.  This is not considered a graduate student assistantship, but we are happy to have graduate students apply.

Do I need to have work-study to apply?


Work study is not required to apply for any of the positions, however preference will be given to students with work-study for a small percentage of the positions.

I am a non-DACA student, can I apply? As a non-DACA student, will I be paid if selected for a role?


Yes, non-DACA students or students without traditional work authorization may still apply. Under special circumstances, the Department is able to host students in the various paid DIRC student leadership positions for the 2021-2022 academic year.

Can students from non-CSUF campuses apply? 


No. We are only accepting applications from full-time enrolled CSUF students.

Can I edit my application?

 

No, you cannot edit your application after it has been submitted. If you have questions please contact the area you applied to:

Will all applicants receive an interview?


Not every applicant will receive an interview. Due to a high volume of applications, we are unable to interview everyone. All students who apply will be contacted with the status of their application.
